In order to change habits to enhance your life, you need to understand the difference between your conscious mind and your subconscious mind. You also need the right techniques to reprogram your mind for positive habits. The conscious mind directs and the subconscious mind obeys. 95 percent of your life comes from the subconscious mind, so by definition your life is a printout of your subconscious programs. The things that you like and that come easily to you in your life are there because you have a program that allows them to be there. In contrast anything that you have to work hard at, put a lot of effort into or anything you have to struggle for to make it happen, is a result of your programs not supporting that. When your life’s not working for you, that’s an indication that you need a new program.
Habits are responsible for most of what we do. It’s the brain on autopilot, becoming so efficient that we don’t consciously think about every single action we make.
The problem comes when we internalize an action that harms us and makes it a habit. To get rid of that habit, we first have to understand the entire process.
There is a simple neurological loop at the core of every habit. The idea is that our behavior is guided by a cue, routine and reward. To change your behavior, you need to isolate and identify the cues and rewards you are looking for.
The only thing that you need to change is the routine.
